Oral health care designed to make your life easier.

A healthy mouth throughout your child's lifetime leads to years of easy smiles and reduced pain and frustration.  We believe that when children are supported with habits that support oral health, they are set on a path toward a low maintenance and beautiful smile.

Around the 1st birthday!

First Visit

Memories of dental visits can impact a person's interest in visiting the dentist for their entire life.  We understand how important a patient's experience is to their oral health for a lifetime.  Bringing your child in around their first birthday helps them see the dental office as part of their world and allows us to make a happy visit and positive memories.  This often has the effect of making childhood dental care much more enjoyable for the whole family.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend the establishment of a dental home within 6 months after the eruption of the first tooth or 12 months of age, whichever happens first. This early visit allows you, as a parent, to establish a relationship with your child’s dental provider from a young age, giving your child the best opportunity for a healthy mouth. We will look for early signs of problems, discuss prevention strategies, and what to do in the case of a dental emergency.

More than just dental work.

SW PDX Pediatric Dentistry is more than a place to fix teeth – it's an opportunity for children and families to experience oral health care with minimal stress and learn how to avoid early pitfalls, encouraging healthy mouths for a lifetime.

As a full-service pediatric dental clinic, we offer an in-office sedation for healthy children that need a little anxiety relief.  We can discuss the various sedation options at your examination appointment.  Together we can come up with a plan to put everyone's fears aside.

Your estimated insurance co-payment is due at the time of service.  If there is a balance due after insurance has paid, you will be sent a statement.  Payment is due within 30 days, unless a payment plan has been arranged with us.  Accounts not paid in full will incur a monthly service charge of 1.5% after 60 days with a $1.50 rebilling charge.  Accounts past due in excess of 90 days without a payment plan in place will be sent to a credit reporting collections service and will also be assessed a $75 collections fee, plus any related costs and expenses including reasonable attorney’s fees.  Returned checks will be charged a fee of $35 per check.

We understand that circumstances beyond one’s control can necessitate short notice cancellations.  Missed appointments mean another child who was in need of our services could not be seen because the time was reserved especially for you.  Please be considerate and aware of time constraints and schedule appointments carefully.  We require a minimum 24 hours notice to cancel any and all appointments (if we are not in the office, please leave us a message on the answering machine).  Your account will be charged $40 for missed and/or last minute cancellations.  This fee will not be billed to your insurance.  Exceptions will be made for weather events making travel unsafe or for emergencies.

Dental Emergency

Your child's dental health is important to us, regardless of the time of day.  For dental emergencies, call the office at (503) 244-9073.  If outside of business hours, listen to the message and follow the directions.
